Lu Ching Lau
Lu Ching provides expert counsel on crisis communications and government relations.
Before joining Klareco, Lu Ching was the Head of Global Communications at Asia Pulp & Paper Co Ltd, Indonesia, and prior to that, the Global Crisis Communications Advisor for BP Plc.
She managed BP’s communications team covering global and regional level communications. Following the Deepwater Horizon crisis, she was brought in to coordinate the development of a global crisis communications strategy in close counsel with BP Group leadership. Subsequently, Lu Ching became the global point of reference as she directed the communications plan in consultation with all BP Country Presidents, implementing new communications processes and policies in more than 80 countries.
Formerly a civil servant, Lu Ching spent 13 years in the Singapore Prime Minister’s Office, latterly as Assistant Secretary to the Prime Minister. She was also a member of the Singapore–United States Free Trade Agreement negotiation team.
